No doubt about it – the arrival of a new little soul is a beautiful life-changing event. You can dive into all the books, attend classes, and seek wisdom from those who've been down this road, but there's nothing quite like your unique journey. And the beauty lies in the fact that no two of these experiences are ever quite the same.

Newborn Photography is all about preserving the love, connection, and heartfelt moments that come along in those first precious weeks of life. It's the art of capturing the tiniest of details, the softest expressions, and those intimate moments that make this time truly exceptional. One of the things I absolutely cherish about Newborn Photography is the closeness of the experience. I feel incredibly fortunate to be able to create something that can bring back those feelings for years to come. The most rewarding part of newborn photography is the emotions it captures. There's nothing quite like the joy and amazement that parents experience when they hold their newborn for the first time. Capturing those emotions on camera is incredibly special.

It’s all about blending posed, lifestyle, and documentary-style photography, with the focus squarely on the baby and a less-is-more approach to props. I take great care and exercise patience when posing and positioning the baby, ensuring that every photo is effortlessly beautiful. Extra time is allocated for this photoshoot to allow for setup, feeding breaks, settling and allowing enough time to not rush this opportunity to photograph your little one, and family.

Capturing the initial weeks of a newborn's life is truly priceless. It's a chance to document the miracle of new life and those delicate features in photographs. After 9 months of anticipation, I’d be honoured to help you remember this short lived moment with my photography.

Something simple, timeless, and comfortable clothing that makes you feel fabulous is my best advice. Partners can coordinate with your outfit if you like - simplicity and is key. I encourage to steer clear of large/bold patterns, spots, stripes, or logos. In the end, we want you to be yourself in these photographs, but also want you to look back on these photos in 10 years time, and not regret the orange and green Hawaiian shirt…ha! For baby - I also recommend simplicity. If you have a special muslin wrap or swaddle you would like them in, or a cute little accessory, please have that ready on the day. I will also bring a few options with me too. Any questions, please feel free to ask.

newborn PHOTOSHOOT FAQ's & Handy details

When should I make the booking for our session?

Of course if this isn’t your first child, all the kids, and partner in the family will be involved in our session. How special is it to also capture that twinkle in their eye of them newly becoming a proud big brother or sister, alongside with you, the parents. It takes a village! We can try our best for our little furry friends to be included too!

How old should our baby be for our session?

Newborn Photography typically works its magic around within the two-week mark when they are at their sleepiest, naturally curled up, and all brand new. But honestly, any time is a good time to capture their beauty!

What should we wear?

The best time to book in for your session is when you are still pregnant - due dates and birth dates can be unpredictable at times, but I can accommodate as much as possible if we need to re-evaluate the date. From your due date - add 7-10 days, and try to book around that time.

Our baby has arrived already - can we still book?

I have a few lovely spots in mind - beach surroundings, field vibes, or a magical forest ambience. If you have a specific location you are wanting - please contact me to let me know what you are thinking.

Where to from here?

Vaccinations and Working With Children’s Check?

Yes to both! I am up to date with vaccinations and I do have a current Working with Children’s check. If you prefer me to wear a mask during our session, I am more than happy to.

Can we just stay home for our session?

I offer at home photography services for Newborn Photography, as I know how it can be such a time of adjustment - and leaving the house for a photoshoot sometimes feels unachievable or too much too soon. We can find a nice well lit spot in your house where we can base ourselves, or a few different spots. We can also do a location if you prefer - We can talk further about these options.
